Orpheum Style A5 Archtop acoustic-electric guitar, likely manufactured by Regal in Chicago during the late 1930s or 1940s.

This is an upper-tier "Style A5" model featuring gorgeous, deeply figured flamed maple back and sides, a carved spruce top, block pearloid fingerboard inlays, and an original script headstock overlay. It is equipped with its original factory Grover Sta-Tite open-gear tuning machines featuring the iconic bell-shaped baseplates.

  • Playability & Electronics: Unlike many vintage archtops that suffer from high action or warped necks, this guitar is incredibly easy to play. The neck joint is completely flush and stable, the top flat, and the frets have plenty of height remaining.

  • Fully functional, low-profile floating bridge pickup system. The lead wire is cleanly routed out of sight along the f-hole so that no holes were drilled into the top wood, fully maintaining both its acoustic punch and structural value. It sounds wonderful acoustic and plugs in seamlessly for a rich jazz, blues, or swing tone.

  • Condition: Very good vintage condition with gorgeous lacquer checking and light finish wear on the back of the neck from decades of honest play. The original multi-bound tortoise-shell celluloid pickguard is perfectly flat and in fantastic shape.

  • Modern fitted hard shell case with secure latches
